This report details the approach and work undertaken to support two countries, Hungary (HU), and the Czech Republic (CZ), in further progressing their endeavours to implement and integrate mHealth applications in their mainstream health and care service provision processes. The collaboration took place from winter 2020 to spring 2022 and was designed as multi-disciplinary cooperation between members of the mHealth Hub team and a team of national stakeholders in Hungary/ Czech Republic.
Country support work was a customised endeavour by the European mHealth Hub to provide information and intelligence that a country needs to move forward its mHealth agenda. The nature of the support goals jointly identified for each country and its maturity in terms of, e.g., available technical infrastructure, level of political commitment to focus on mHealth or existing initiatives to base the work upon, impacted on the capacity of a country to take advantage of the mHealth Hub Knowledge Tools. Implementation support for key stakeholders in Hungary focused on setting the framework for the implementation of mDiabetes applications targeted at newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes patients. Support for the Czech Republic concentrated on topics relevant for health system integration such as assessment frameworks, the design and development of a mHealth policy framework as well as good practice exchange on mHealth strategy implementation.
