The objective of the European mHealth Hub project is to establish a centralised resource for collecting and disseminating the results of research initiatives and practical experience relating to the large-scale implementation of mHealth programmes; and to support countries or regions in the design and implementation of mHealth programmes at large scale.
After completion of the project phase, a permanent facility might be set up that serves as an on-going and living resource for Member States of the EU and other European countries who wish to set up or further develop mHealth services. The permanent Hub is intended to be able to support the full life cycle of a national or regional level mHealth initiative from research, through to practical implementation and sustainable service delivery.
Depending on the final Service Portfolio to be offered, the permanent Hub may provide advice on issues such as technology selection and assessment, technical and sematic interoperability, as well as outline advice on compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
