Interoperability with healthcare providers

Role this area should play in the mHealth space

One of the main goals for the coming years is to better enable patients to care for themselves, by providing optimal support from experts and the health care systems. Chronic diseases are for example important fields of application. Seamless data integration between mHealth apps and for healthcare provider solutions is the main prerequisite.

Current challenges and limitations
  • Reliability of data generated by lay-people for medical treatment processes
  • Quality and availability of all data transfers during medical treatment
  • Authenticity and integrity of the data transferred
  • Reimbursement
  • Internationally harmonized solutions, that are fit for global adoption
What benefit could this bring to adopters of this innovation?

Existing IT-infrastructure and concepts might be “re”-used (e.g. authentication methodologies, developed terminologies for coding, logging concepts).

How does it contribute to major EU policy priorities? (e.g. EHDS, COVID-19, DTHC etc.)

These implementations and initiatives listed above provide proven building blocks that can support EHDS and DTHC

What is on the horizon?

These implementations and initiatives listed above must over time evolve into an integrated environment as outlined by the DTHC and EHDS. This environment must also encompass mHealth.
